Title
Consciousness of the Inanimate painting as a Spherical Depth Map. b
Artist
Paul Davenport
Medium
Painting - Oil Paint On Board And Digital
Description
This 'Extraction' is a Spherical Depth Map of my 'Consciousness of the Inanimate' oil painting. Ive just started experimenting with Depth Maps and thought thought some of my paintings would produce some interesting effects. Any white plots as '0' and appears as the surface of the sphere, black is theoretically in the centre, and is cut away - everything else is plotted accordingly.
These Spherical Depth Maps of the 'Consciousness of the Inanimate' painting are all of the same 3d generated model, viewed from different positions.
Original painting can be viewed here...

Now looking for suppliers that could print this out as a solid 3D object, which I would love to try.

Thank you Regina :-)... very strange to see a painting turn into 3d !!! wasn't at all sure how to present them... almost did them floating over the respective paintings but the result was rather odd!
