Title
Squigglehead with blue scarf and red ear
Artist
Paul Davenport
Medium
Painting - Graphite Stick And Gouache Paint On Paper
Description
I doodle rather a lot (all the time actually)... I saw this one lying about the other day (lazy thing) and thought I would do something with it!. The doodle was drawn with a 9B graphite stick, applied over the background texture which was done in gouache paint on brown packaging paper.
The red ear and blue scarf I painted on later as it seemed to need something more for interest and balance.

Paul, I wish I could scribble like you, not to mention your fine sketches contained in your gallery. For some reason, which I can't figure out myself, this image appealed to me the most today - probably a weather thingy 🍷+F/L
Paul Davenport replied:
Probably is the weather... or a bee sting?... though in this self portrait, someone punched me really hard on the ear!!! ... I can't figure out why! :-)

Fantastic piece, Paul! Made me think about the work of Paul Klee and a little of Joan Miro. Congratulations!
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you very much for the feature Rob:-)... these were a very pleasant break from my normal drawings, which are rather intense!

This is definitely inspiring piece to me. Great continuous line work! It reminds me of one good continuous line painter in Bali!
