Description
This was taken on a recent walk. I had to walk along about three miles of road from where I live to get to open countryside. Whilst I have lived in the area for 15 years, I have never been here before, it just looked rather interesting on the map. I was rather surprised to find myself confronted with lovely open countryside with not a pathway or trail in sight.
I wondered lonely as a... well, a lost person in a field actually!... then eventually found an old farm, which I went through (without getting shot) and found a track (yeah!)... and more fields.
The light falling on the stubble of the field against the strong shadows I found rather striking. and I still had not seen anyone else all the time I was walking, which had been about five hours!
Shot with a Nikon D7100 with 18-300 Nikkor lens.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

I love those grand clouds and the shadows they cast across the land! Wonderful capture Paul. You must be nice and fit after all that walking L/F
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you Linda... this looks quite nice in colour with the golden crops... but I do like black and white. I actually don't feel very fit at all... but Im thinking of a trip to Iceland and wanted to see how I would handle things... think I need to do some more before going though. :-)

Great capture on your walk about Paul!!! Love the awesome clouds! Glad you didn't get shot! L/F
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you Kathy... Im rather glad I didn't get shot too :-) ... I still find it really strange I didn't meet anyone else at all whilst I was walking, no one walking the doggies or anything!... unless they did all get shot? :-( .... but I didn't see a farmer either! :-)
