Description
This was taken on a recent walk. I had to walk along about three miles of road from where I live to get to open countryside. Whilst I have lived in the area for 15 years, I have never been here before, it just looked rather interesting on the map. I was rather surprised to find myself confronted with lovely open countryside with not a pathway or trail in sight.
This is at the same spot as picture 4. I really liked the pattern and motion of the stubble in the shadow.
Shot with a Nikon D7100 with 18-300 Nikkor lens.

Wonderful perspective!
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you Mary Anne! - the line of trees on the right are hiring a railway line... took me ages to find a way to the other side:-)

Love being there (sorta) enjoying the adventure of new territory! Awesome work! F/L+
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you :-). Was both tiring and exhilarating! I used to be able to walk 40+ miles without a problem... and this was only 8... and my legs did actually just stop working at one point :-( ... and I started creaking!!! - what's that about? :-)

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
