Title
C'est La Vie #2
Artist
Paul Davenport
Medium
Painting - Charcoal & Compressed Charcoal On Paper And Digital
Description
Having recently been working with several child protection agencies and doing a stint working in a local hospital... I felt somewhat compelled to do this drawing, which is intended to motivate the creation of empathy, though it doesn't quite capture what I was aiming for!
But this version is taking the original drawing and overlaying it with a scan of handmade paper I stained with inks... which I think helps the intended mood by obscuring the drawn image.
A timeline for the drawing can be seen on
https://www.behance.net/gallery/40959325/cest-la-vie-timeline
The drawing is done with charcoal and compressed charcoal onto 420 x 594mm Daler Rowney 200g/m2 Fine Grain HeavyWeight paper.

you've achieved your aim very well, conveying not only the child's fear, fragility, self-protection and isolation, but also her sense of a confusing and unreliable external world... L/F

This is very self explanatory. It looks as though she has a guardian Angel around her. I wish I could hug and love the fear away from these children. Great Artwork l/f/twee
