Love the interpretation of this -- all the things we do not know. I think there was a Star Trek episode (first series) about this. Thought-provoking.

Your gallery is amazing Paul, there are so many different types of art created with many different techniques. It is a true joy to browse on your profile and enjoy your spectacular work. I'll be back! :) l/f (and following!)

Paul Davenport replied:

Very happy you find them interesting Tim… I guess my gallery is something of a hotchpotch, but Im rather easily distracted :-) When I was doing graphic design I never specialised in anything in particular, so could get hit with being asked to produce all manner of strange things… which I suppose suited my temperament rather well. I just really enjoy the process of creating something now!

Artist's Description

I have recently been listening to a lecture by Chomsky, where he mentions a possibility of rock and other things we consider inanimate, having consciousness. Which was his way of trying to convey the limits of our own intelligence and awareness.

The thought stuck with me - and motivated by that... started with a green circle... changing and adding things as they felt required. The white lines and yellow tendril I added on the computer, as I felt it required a precision I couldn't achieve by hand.

About Paul Davenport

Paul Davenport

I started off in fine art, by going to Wakefield School of Art and then St Martins in London to do Sculpture, I have spent most of my time (after going to Camberwell School of Art for a Graphics degree) doing graphic design, working through various sectors including publishing, sales promotion, marketing, and design consultancies, before starting my own company in 1995. I have always to some extent kept up with the fine art - even when this just meant going out sketching with my dad... and its always played a big part in my design work. Most recently though I have being doing rather allot of drawing, re igniting a passion for my long lost love of fine art (or scribbling). From sketching my neighbours little girl, I found myself...
