Dramatic rocks and photography

Paul Davenport replied:

Thank you:-) - walking amongst the fractures - up on the top there, someones head suddenly popped up out of one of the chasms... gave me a start it did - not something you see every day :-)

Gorgeous bw shot. L/F/Tweet

Paul Davenport replied:

Thank you :-). I haven't really found an ideal way of converting to bw, so its usually rather manual... dodging, burning, layer masking and overlays... and inevitably cloning white edges!

I love your b&w images. This one is amazing!

Paul Davenport replied:

Happy you like them :-) ... I do like black and white... I like colour too, but find its very much a distraction a lot of the time. I like the area where this was taken... whilst its not 'stunning', it is rather unusual. Before climbing down, I was scampering about on the top of the rock to the left... and someones head just popped up out of a hole on the ground... gave me quite a start it did :-)

Paul Davenport replied:

ps... love your black and white too :-)
