Description
This was taken from my now habitual perch at the top of the small hill behind Cregneash, overlooking The Sound, on the Isle Of Man in the UK.
Meayll circle is a small ancient stone circle, sitting just below the summit of the hill, and as I was up there anyway watching the sun go down, thought I would attempt to get it silhouetted. They actually came out better than I thought they would, primarily because the stones are only a couple of feet high, and I was flat on my tummy with my face pressed into the heather.
Shot with a Nikon D7100 with 18-300 Nikkor lens.

There is a Celtic and primordial feel to this beautiful image (reminiscent of Kubrick's famous Dawn of Man sequence from the film "2001: A Space Odyssey"). Wonderful capture... L/F

Thank you Michael :-) I do feel strangely drawn to these stone circles for some reason! - most of the ones scattered around Europe were built around 3000 to 2000 BC... so pre-date the Celts. You do find them in very odd places sometimes... this one is almost on top of a hill (maybe it moved?)... and there is another about 2 miles away from here, perched on the edge of a cliff.
