Jigsaw Puzzle
I was just going to title these Brexit... but that would be petty! Records what happened to a stretch of land by my local river that for some unfathomable reason was fenced off for six months whilst being driven up and down with articulated trucks. Well, the meadow disappeared and this is what was left. Who needs a beautiful meadow when one can have dry, cracked, barren soil with lots of interesting cracks in it?
Actually took a while to figure out how best to process them to knock back the very red soil and enhance the contrast, which involved generating several overlaid layers for each image but I find the results quite interesting.
Taken with a Nikon D7100 using 35mm prime.
I started off in fine art, by going to Wakefield School of Art and then St Martins in London to do Sculpture, I have spent most of my time (after going to Camberwell School of Art for a Graphics degree) doing graphic design, working through various sectors including publishing, sales promotion, marketing, and design consultancies, before starting my own company in 1995. I have always to some extent kept up with the fine art - even when this just meant going out sketching with my dad... and its always played a big part in my design work.
