The labouring of waves. 1
Artist
Paul Davenport
Medium
Photograph - Digital Photography
Description
This is the rock outcrop I walked out onto to get some sideways pictures of waves as they rolled passed. I just had to keep my eye on every sixth wave as they were sweeping right over the rock I was on.
I rather liked the lighting and the movement, which I could not have captured if it had been very stormy, as storms here are pretty wild!!
Photographed near Port St Mary, in the Isle Of Man in the UK, with a Nikon D7100 with 18-300 Nikkor lens.

How beautiful and dramatic....so frightening to see that you were in some jeopardy getting this shot! F/L++

I am actually a rather cautious person... but have been known on occasion to do some very stupid things :-)

Beautiful work! L/F
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you for the L/F Roger. Not very rough really, though I guess you can't really win with coastal pictures - the year before the waves were doing right over the harbour walls here... but I could't have stood where I am in the picture!

Congratulations on being featured in the Fine Art America Group "Images That Excite You!"

Wonderful, moody seascape Paul! You be careful hopping about on rocks amid the waves, don't want you being swept off. L/F
Paul Davenport replied:
Thank you for the l/f :-) ... I don't feel at all sure about myself any more when in risky situations... on the other hand, I used to do some really stupid things!!! ........ keep on swimming, keep on swimming!
