Artist's Description
Photographed as I was just entering the Fleshwick Plantation which overlooks Fleshwick Bay, in the Isle Of Man in the UK. This is looking North through Fleshwick and towards Peel. Doing my customary walkabout with vigilant gaze (which actually comprises the dog taking me for a walk and getting me to throw sticks, me not noticing whats happening around me at all!).
But on looking behind me (probably for a stick) and saw the clouds were boiling away over the hilltops looking as if it was backlit, to the left and right there was completely clear blue sky, with the sun behind me, very odd (again), but the doggy got me to throw some more sticks, which took my mind off it!
Shot with a Nikon D7100 with 18-300 Nikkor lens.
About Paul Davenport
I started off in fine art, by going to Wakefield School of Art and then St Martins in London to do Sculpture, I have spent most of my time (after going to Camberwell School of Art for a Graphics degree) doing graphic design, working through various sectors including publishing, sales promotion, marketing, and design consultancies, before starting my own company in 1995. I have always to some extent kept up with the fine art - even when this just meant going out sketching with my dad... and its always played a big part in my design work. Most recently though I have being doing rather allot of drawing, re igniting a passion for my long lost love of fine art (or scribbling). From sketching my neighbours little girl, I found myself...
