This 'Extraction' is a Spherical Depth Map of my 'angst III' oil painting. Ive just started experimenting with Depth Maps and thought thought some of my paintings would produce some interesting shapes. Any white plots as '0' and appears on the surface of the 3d sphere, black is theoretically in the centre, and everything else is plotted accordingly.
These Spherical Depth Maps of the 'angst III' painting are all of the same model, viewed from various positions.
Have been looking for suppliers that could print this out as a solid 3D object, which I would love to try.

Very different and interesting. It captures my imagination and can't stop looking at it! Well done.

I thought it would be interesting because of the white in the original paintings, but I honestly didn't know quite what to expect. I still haven't printed any of these out in 3D, but would love to see what came out!
