Photographs of paving slabs, who's compositions of miscellaneous detritus and remnants on them I found interesting.

They were photographed in full colour, then the images processed to highlight the random flotsam and jetsam on the compositions.

These paving slabs are my older sisters, who would normally keep them neat and tidy, but had broken her arm. I was visiting to help out, but found these slabs just too pretty to sweep!

I started off in fine art, by going to Wakefield School of Art and then St Martins in London to do Sculpture, I have spent most of my time (after going to Camberwell School of Art for a Graphics degree) doing graphic design, working through various sectors including publishing, sales promotion, marketing, and design consultancies, before starting my own company in 1995. I have always to some extent kept up with the fine art - even when this just meant going out sketching with my dad... and its always played a big part in my design work.
